Customized Workshop (Private Corporation)

Recently we worked with a fast-growing and dynamic local firm. It was already well known for its customer service and performance. Always striving for improvement, its CEO believed there was room to improve productivity and so brought us in to train the supervisors.

We conducted employee assessments and developed a customized one-day (6 hour) workshop that focused on enhancing performance and addressing critical success factors. The training modules we used during the workshop including several hands-on exercises and scenarios that helped ensure the skills taught were internalized by all participants.

As part of the workshop, we also provided follow-up support for each employee for several months. This helped create accountability for each participant and ensured the bank received the most possible benefit for its employees by having them revisit the training on a regular basis.

The end result is a group of employees that are managing their daily workloads more effectively and are more productive. In addition, the company clearly showed it values its employees and wants to help them work smarter, not harder.

Productivity Seminar (Law Firm)

Our seminars are interactive talks filled with useful strategies and motivational tips. We developed and delivered a 90-minute seminars for a large, well-known law firm. The presentation focused on helping employees minimize interruptions—both the number and the impact of them—and how to carve out dedicated time to do the writing and review necessary for their work.

Working in conjunction with the department director, we helped spark discussions about improving productivity so the attorneys and paralegals could take ownership for implementing LSC's solutions. "Casey Moore" became a verb as attorneys held each other accountable for getting on track.

Ultimately, the seminar series led participants to examine not only their own personal work habits, but how their respective departments could better organize workflow and schedules to minimize interruptions that pull people off task. This was a huge success for a busy law firm.

One-to-One Training (Financial Advisor)

A successful financial advisor contacted us, wanting to take his work to the next level. We conducted a thorough assessment to determine exactly how he might improve his productivity and developed an Action Plan that focused on those areas.

Over the course of three months, we worked together regularly, intensively at first and then infrequently later on. Each session ended with a homework assignment to ensure that progress continued even without our presence. We also stayed connected with emails and phone calls between sessions.

In the course of the training, we:

  • Helped him improve his delegation, including clarifying work hand-off and oversight so he has confidence the work was getting done to his satisfaction.
  • Showed him how to handle emails decisively so that his in-box could get down to zero each day.
  • Created a master task and project list to guide time management decisions.
  • Developed prioritizing strategies to help manage the to-do list.
  • Set up a plan to block his schedule into manageable chucks of time to ensure he had dedicated time to do the work.
  • Implemented short and simple checklists for standard activities (e.g., post-client-meeting follow-up) to prevent tasks from slipping through the cracks.
  • Helped him minimize unnecessary interruptions and lessen their impact.
  • Clarified and help him accountable for his goals regarding time (he wanted to spend more time with his family).
  • Assisted with project planning—breaking down goals into one-step actions and time-oriented milestones and scheduling time to complete the tasks.
  • Developed a tickler system for “touch” calls to, and meetings with, clients and referral sources.

Within months of our working together he was promoted to department manager.
